IdeaSite

August 7, 2007

This site is for me to showcase my ideas, fast-tracking them to the general public, or whoever reads my site and can use them.

Lots of them are simple T-Shirt ideas, but many are ideas for consumer products, commercial slogans, or even retail store names.

I am doing this to support the free trade of positive and helpful thought, because I am tired of dealing with ‘idea suckers’ (companies advertising help for inventors, but who end up trading on the naivete of our best minds.

For those who haven’t heard of the old ‘poor man’s notary public’, it was where someone with an idea mailed it to themselves, then held the letter to themself as ‘certified’ proof that they had the idea at a certain time–pretty simple, hopefully good enough in old-’tymes’ to assert a fact or time,  or even to prove a point at how smart they were, when competitors or even nemeses came back later with copyright claims.

It’s with thies in mind that I started this blog, a blog that I use to document my ideas when I have them, a catalog, and compendium of things I think may be useful to others, whether they have the monetary resources to develop them, or lack the money to buy a cheeseburger off McDonalds’ dollar menu,  but instead possess something rare like talent, and maybe even honesty enough to refer to me as the originator of the thing in the first place…

Or maybe just the first to blog  it.

Ithumbprint-cell.jpgthumbprint-cell.jpg had this idea over a year ago, but finally drew this simple design this past Summer, then finished it with some text to indicate  what I thought the  implementation would add to cell phone function.  It’s a security feature to be added to future cell phones, to keep your address book private and your cell phone inaccessible to anyone if you lose it.

Retail Store Name Ideas

Two great ideas for retail store names came to me a couple of years ago, and I wanted to blog them as quickly as possible to avoid confusion about who came up with them.

First, I think a good name for a housewares store that also caters to men [and I mean real men]–‘It’s Curtains for You’.

Secondly, I think a great, upscale, yet timely name for a vacuum-cleaner sales venture would simply be–‘This Stuff Really Sucks!’
